The Olympus OM system of SLR cameras that used 35mm film was introduced in 1972 and remained in production until 2003. It included a range of lenses, lighting, stands and accessories for close-up and macrophotography that has never been equalled by any other manufacturer.
This Web site aims to illustrate and document the close-up and macro equipment, and includes original photographs, descriptions of the equipment, reproductions of the instruction leaflets and manuals, and extracts from the Sales Information File.
There are also pages on going digital and on M System equipment, and indexes of product names, numbers and codes.
Olympus supplied dealers with the loose-leaf Sales Information File, which contained details and photographs of almost everything in the Olympus OM system:
PDF files extracted from the Sales Information File are included in the pages for some of the equipment. These PDFs display well in Firefox. The PDFs display reasonably well in Google Chrome, and the display can be improved by installing the PDF Viewer extension from the Chrome Web Store. In Microsoft Edge, you can change a setting so that PDF files in web pages are displayed instead of showing a link to download them.
