Search the Compendium
You can use this search facility to find common names of pesticides, or to find fragments of systematic names (e.g. tetrachloro), or to find CAS Registry Numbers (e.g. 1086-02-8). The Compendium does not include trade names or manufacturer’s code numbers.
If you are not sure of the spelling of a name, then you may find it easier to browse through the Index of Common Names, or to use one of the other indexes that are available from the home page.

Simple Searching:
- Any Word:
- Just type one or more words to find documents containing any of the words.
- All Words:
- Type 'and' between the words you are looking for, to find documents containing all of the words.
- Exact Phrase: "..."
- Surround words with double quotes if you want to find documents containing an exact phrase.

Capitalization does not affect the results of the search.
Advanced Searching:
- Boolean Operators: + -
- Use + in front of each word or quoted phrase that you require.
Use - in front of each word that you want to exclude.
- Boolean Expressions: AND OR NOT ( )
- Use AND, OR, NOT, (, and ) to form a Boolean expression.
AND requires, OR allows, NOT excludes.
Use double quotes to protect the words "and", "or", or "not" in a phrase.
