Amendment 5 to ISO 1750:1981 Pesticides and other agrochemicals – Common names has recently been published. It is available from ISO and should be available from national standards organisations. This Amendment contains 262 approved common names, and clears the backlog of approved but unpublished names dating back to 1984. It also contains corrections to the definitions of diclosulam, epoxiconazole, imidacloprid, iodosulfuron and spinosad.

British pronunciation of common names

British pronunciations (based on an unpublished revision of BS 1831 - Common names for pesticides) have been added to more than 1500 data sheets. These pronunciations are not part of any official standard, but should be helpful to both chemists and non-chemists. Please note that these are BRITISH pronunciations, and are likely to differ from pronunciations in other English-speaking countries, and to differ even more from pronunciations in countries where English is not the main language. Please use the contact form if you find any errors, or if you strongly disagree with any of the pronunciations.
